FaZe Clan and NICKMERCS Extend Partnership With New Three-Year-Long Deal

Well-known Twitch streamer Nicholas ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff and top esports organization FaZe Clan have agreed to extend their current partnership by an additional three years. 

According to a recent press release, this new FaZe Clan deal “firmly entrenches Nick as the face of FaZe Clan, as the organization will look to Nick to produce more creative and engaging content that aligns with FaZe’s reach within the sports, music, and entertainment landscapes.”

NICKMERCS–who currently has a Twitch following of 4.3 million and a YouTube subscriber count of 2.91 million–is probably best known currently for streaming Call of Duty: Warzone, as well as previously streaming other popular FPS titles such as Fortnite.

He pulls in incredible view numbers, with his Warzone streams from the past week or so currently averaging 1.1-1.4 million views, and his YouTube channel views currently sitting at a jaw-dropping total of 342,848,842 views. He regularly hits 100,000 concurrent viewers on his Twitch streams, and also has 1.5 million followers over on Twitter. 

He’s also been incredibly busy lately: he recently took part in the Twitch Rivals FaZe Face-Off, as well as featuring on FaZe’s keynote panel at TechCrunch Disrupt. He also hosted the most-watched Call of Duty: Warzone tournament series to date–The NICKMERCS MFAM Gauntlet–an event which was so popular that it ended up being sponsored by Activision Blizzard.

In total, twenty-three teams of four players competed in the event, these were a mix of influential FPS streamers, top YouTubers, professional COD players, athletes, musicians, and more.

FaZe Clan has also seen huge success this year: a recent study from Shareablee claimed that FaZe Clan has the largest fan base on social media, with the organisation reportedly leading consumer engagement at 14.4M social actions throughout August 2020.

They’re an organisation that every esports and gaming fan knows about and has probably meme’d about at some point in their online lives, and are described by G FUEL as being “known for [their] disruptive original content and hyper-loyal fanbase.”

The Breakdown

We’re excited to see the extension of this partnership–it seems as if NICKMERCS and FaZe are only going to grow from strength to strength in the coming months and years, as both streamer and organisation seek to improve their online presence. 

Investments in individual streamers from large organisations is a great indication of how large a part individual influencers play when it comes to star power online: NICKMERCS has become one of the most important and visible people in FaZe, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re eager to keep him on for much longer than three years.
